The 104 degree pour in Phoenix that made me swear off afternoon finishing
We poured a 40 yard slab for a loading dock at 2pm because the GC insisted, the sun baked the surface crust before we even got the bull float on it, and I spent 6 hours fighting patches that kept sticking to my mag; has anyone else told a GC to move a pour time and actually won that argument?

That "cooked eggs" line hit home. @fionamurphy, the hose trick is the only reason we finished that dock, but it made the surface worse and we had to grind it flat the next morning. Real talk, I've never won that argument, I just show up with a cooler full of ice and start spraying before the concrete even hits the truck.

Man, that brings back a memory of pouring a driveway in July where the rebar got so hot we could've cooked eggs on it, and the finisher's boots literally started melting to the slab. We ended up flooding the surface with a garden hose just to buy time, which somehow worked, but the GC never let us live it down.
