PSA: A guy at a diner in Boise told me the moon landing was faked to distract from Vietnam
He said it with such calm certainty over coffee that I realized some theories aren't about proof, they're about feeling heard. Ever have a chat that just stuck with you, even if you totally disagreed?

Man, that's the kind of thing that would rattle around in my head for days. It's less about the moon and more about that deep need some folks have to be the one who knows a "truth." I get what @torres.nathan means about secrets, even the silly ones, giving you a little private world. That guy probably just wanted his private world to feel big and important, you know? Makes you wonder what else he carries around.

Wow, that's a wild one! Honestly, some people just need to feel like they've got a secret. That would definitely stick with me too.

Yeah, the need for a secret is strong. My own secrets are mostly just dumb stuff, like where I hide the good snacks from myself. Not exactly moon rock level. That kind of story would haunt me for years.
