Three grand in pier quotes later, and I finally learned that my soil tests were just expensive guesses.

The real lesson might not be about the method at all. That first crew probably didn't do a proper soil test before they shot the polyurethane in. Two seasons in Oklahoma clay tells me the ground moved again, and no injection or pile fixes that unless you know what's down there first. Watching the redo fail from the start might be the thing worth paying attention to.
