My basement tile project taught me a harsh lesson about blade types

I was laying ceramic tile in my basement last week. I grabbed a standard blade for my saw, thinking it would work. Big mistake. The blade chewed up the edges and left cracks in half the tiles. I had to stop, buy a diamond blade, and redo the cuts. Now I'm behind schedule and out extra cash. Don't be like me; match your blade to the material from the start.

That part about cracked tiles hits home. Last year I tried to cut some PVC pipe for a drain with a wood saw blade. Made the worst jagged mess you ever saw, and the fitting wouldn't seal. I was covered in plastic dust and had to run back to the store too, just for the right blade. It's crazy how one wrong tool can wreck your whole afternoon.

Ugh tell me about it, you ever try to turn a bolt with regular pliers instead of a wrench? Left my knuckles shredded and the bolt totally rounded off lol. Had that same walk of shame back to the hardware store.
