My uncle told me to buy a cheap laser level for a kitchen tile job.

He said it was fine for small stuff, so I grabbed a $30 one. The line drifted halfway through laying the field tile, and I had to tear out a whole row. Ended up buying a DeWalt DW088K the next day and finished with no issues. Anyone got a good brand for a backup level that won't break the bank?

My buddy Mike's $20 Amazon laser drifted a full inch over ten feet on a closet shelf project. He keeps a little Huepar red dot laser in his glove box now for quick checks.

Been there with the cheap laser drift. It's the worst. Your DeWalt is solid for the main work. For a backup, are you looking for a second cross line laser, or maybe a smaller dot laser for quick layout checks? Something you can just toss in a tool bag.

Yeah @craig.parker, my old Bosch dot laser is that backup for me. It's tiny, the battery lasts forever, and it's perfect for quick marks.
