Your neighbor is right about dry wood, but six months is actually the bare minimum. For really clean burns, you want wood that's been seasoned for a full year, maybe even two. I learned that the hard way with some oak I tried to burn too soon.

Honestly, a full reflow is a total waste of time here. You just cooked the whole board for one bad part, and that extra heat stress could cause new problems down the line. It's like fixing a flat tire by replacing the whole car.

Chasing that invoice turned into my second, much worse job. The real kicker was spending more on coffee during those calls than the late fees were worth. You really have to pick your battles, even when you're right.
