Saw a wild setup at a job site in Boise last month
Honestly, I was helping a buddy frame a garage and the crew next door had this old Makita cordless saw they'd rigged to a car battery with jumper cables. It was cutting through 2x4s like butter but the whole thing looked like a fire waiting to happen. They said their charger broke and they 'needed to get it done'. Has anyone else seen a tool hack that made you just stop and stare?

Did they at least have the battery sitting on something dry or was it just chilling in the grass? That's the kind of quick fix that makes you back up slowly while you're watching it work.

My cousin in Spokane told me about a guy who ran a whole chop saw off a motorcycle battery for a week.

Oh man, that brings back a memory... We had a jobsite generator die right before lunch once. I ended up running my cordless drill off my truck's 12V outlet with one of those cheap car charger adapters. It was painfully slow for driving screws, but it got a few critical things clamped up until we got a real fix. You just gotta do what works sometimes, even if it looks a little janky.
