Watched a roofer use a hammer tacker last week and it brought me back to 1993 when I learned the trade

Switched to a pneumatic coil nailer five years ago and I still miss the rhythm of driving each staple by hand, even if it took twice as long to finish a job has anyone else gone back to an older tool for the feel of it?

Dude yes, I went back to a hand stapler for baseboards last month. So satisfying.

Did you have to adjust the staple size or did the standard ones work okay? I've found a narrower crown staple keeps the baseboards from splitting.

Seems like narrow crown is the way to go, @sean48. I had the same splitting problem until I switched to a smaller gauge and it made a world of difference.
