Found out a client copyrighted my invoice template through a Meta ad of all places
I was scrolling Facebook last week and saw a sponsored post for a "freelance billing system" that used my exact invoice layout, down to the weird wording I made up for payment terms. Turns out that client I did a one off contract for back in March registered it with the copyright office without telling me. Has anyone else stumbled on their stolen work by pure accident, or do you actively search for your stuff?

That "weird wording for payment terms" is what got you caught, huh. A buddy of mine found his logo on a coffee shop sign three towns over, and the owner swore up and down he drew it himself.
Turns out the print shop had just grabbed it off my friend's site and never told anyone where it came from. Funny how these things always come out sideways, through some ad or random sign, and not because you went looking.
