Quit sending big attachments, started using a gallery link and clients stopped lifting my photos?
I used to send clients a 10 zip file of hi-res shots after every shoot, and at least 2 of my images ended up on their site without payment or credit within a week, every single time. A wedding gig in Portland last spring finally pushed me over the edge, so I switched to a password protected gallery with watermarked previews and only release full files after the invoice clears. Since that switch, theft has basically dropped to zero, but I wonder if I'm being too paranoid and hurting referrals from clients who used to share those big files freely, has anyone else found a middle ground that keeps the trust without the risk?
