Saw a stylist in Miami using a flatiron on wet hair and it blew my mind

Watched her at a salon on Collins Avenue last month and her sections were bone straight in one pass with zero steam or sizzle, has anyone else tried that technique with a higher heat setting?

450 degrees plus my clumsy hands equals @corap61's crispy chunk story but starring me.

I used to do this back in the 90s with a Babyliss Pro flatiron set at 450 degrees. You have to make sure the hair is damp, not soaking wet, and work in very small sections like half inch wide. The key is keeping the iron moving constantly and not clamping down too hard. It worked great on my coarse hair but I'd be careful with fine or color treated hair because it can fry it pretty quick.

Had a friend try this with her thin hair and she ended up with a crispy chunk that snapped right off. Your mileage may vary big time depending on your hair type.
