That one tip he gave you, was it about how to start a conversation or how to follow up after you meet someone? I've found most people focus on the first part but drop the ball on keeping in touch afterward, so I am curious which side he emphasized more. It might be the difference between a stack of business cards and actual professional relationships that last.

Stumbled on this article the other day about follow up timing and it really stuck with me. @craig.olivia you might find this interesting: the writer said most people wait way too long to reach back out. He recommended sending a message within 24 hours after meeting someone, even if it's just a quick "great talking to you" text. The example he gave was referencing something specific from the chat like a shared hobby or a book they mentioned. I've been trying this and it does feel less awkward than the old "nice to meet you" email a week later.
