Vent: The new coworking space in Springfield charges $350 a month for a hot desk

I checked out the new spot on Main Street last week. Everyone online was raving about the free kombucha and the fancy chairs. But the main area was basically a loud coffee shop with worse coffee. I counted twelve people on video calls at the same time. For that price, I could rent a small office in a real building. Has anyone found a quiet, affordable place that isn't just an Instagram backdrop?

Honestly, I gave up on those trendy spots for the same reason. Tbh, check if any local libraries have private study rooms you can book for free. I ended up finding a quiet back room at the community center that costs $50 a month. It's just four walls and a desk, but I can actually get work done.

Those places are all style and zero actual workspace.

The library idea is solid. What kind of work were you trying to do at the trendy spots that made the space feel useless? My old coworker had the same issue with the constant background noise.
