inAppreciation post: My 15-year-old climbing rope finally gave out on a big oak removal last Tuesday.
Guess my retirement plan kicked in before the rope's did.

I used to agree with you, but evan_grant70's point about forcing the new habit really changed my mind.

inMy mud pan cracked right down the middle while taping a ceiling in Phoenix last Thursday.
My last pan gave up in Tucson, so I feel your pain. I've had good luck with the Marshalltown deep pros, but your mileage may vary.

inMy uncle, a retired tech, told me to always check the door switch on a front-loader washer before anything else... saved me 2 hours on a call yesterday.
Seriously though, it makes you wonder how many perfectly good machines get thrown out over stuff like that. We're so quick to assume the worst and just replace things now. I bet repair shops find simple fixes like that all the time, stuff the owners totally missed. It's a good reminder to actually look at the problem before you panic and buy new parts. Saves a ton of money and keeps stuff out of the landfill.
