Rant: My friend's credit bragging at parties has to stop
Credit chats are everywhere now. My friend listed his card limits at a BBQ. People clapped. My neighbor told a loan story. It hurt her score. This casual talk can guide others wrong. We should leave credit tips to the pros.

Actually, real stories help, but treating any single person's experience as gospel is the real danger.

Why should only pros talk about it? Hearing real stories from people I know has helped me dodge some bad choices. It's not all bad if the talk stays grounded.

Yeah, the part about treating any single story as gospel really hits home. My cousin took some random advice about closing old cards and it messed up his credit age for no good reason. The problem is people forget their situation is totally different from yours. We need to share stories with a big warning label that says "this worked for me, but check your own stuff first.
