Just realized my local library does more than lend books

I was picking up a hold in Springfield and saw a flyer for a free 'cooking on a SNAP budget' class. They had a demo making a huge pot of black bean chili for about eight dollars total. Has anyone else found unexpected spots for cheap meal ideas?

Question about late fees on overdue bills

A client took six months to pay. I kept sending invoices. No money came. Then I put a late fee on the bill. Only 5% after one month. They paid right away. Now I do this with all slow payers. My wait time is way down.

I thought writing my own functions was a waste of time

Yeah I was the same way, always telling myself it wasn't worth the extra step. What got me was formatting dates for my kids' school calendars. I had this ugly block of code repeating strftime stuff a dozen times. Wrapping it in one function called clean_date() cut out so much clutter and fixed my mistakes in one spot.

PSA: Don't buy the cheap 'self-cleaning' clipper oil from that online ad

I mean, it's just clipper oil, not engine coolant. A few drops of the basic stuff from the beauty supply store has never failed me. That gunk sounds awful, but maybe the real lesson is to skip the fancy "self-cleaning" claims altogether.

I thought the whole 'petrified wood' thing at roadside stands was a total tourist trap.
