I thought my dad was nuts for using a password manager, but after my Amazon account got hacked from a reused password on a sketchy forum in March, I finally set up Bitwarden.

Has anyone else had that 'oh crap' moment that finally made you take password security seriously?

Why bother with all that extra hassle? I just write my passwords down in a notebook I keep at home. It's not like a burglar is going to break in to steal my Amazon login. Feels way simpler than trusting some app I have to remember another password for anyway.

That's a solid point about physical security. The notebook method gets even better if you keep it with other important papers, like in a fireproof lockbox with your birth certificate and social security card. Then it's safe from both theft and accidents like a house fire or a spilled drink. It turns a simple notepad into a real home records system.

Plus you can add little notes next to them that only make sense to you. My notebook has stuff like "mom's old street" for security answers.
