Paid $40 for a password manager and it saved my accounts twice already

I used to just use the same password for everything because I figured who would want my boring life data. Then I got that email from a site I used back in 2017 saying my info was in a breach. Hit me hard that I had no idea what I was doing. Picked up Bitwarden after a friend showed me how it works on his phone. Anyone else stick with one password for years out of pure laziness?

I started with LastPass back in 2019 after a data breach too and it honestly changed everything for me. The hardest part was just the first week getting all my passwords changed and saved, but after that it became totally automatic. Now I don't even think about it, just let the manager do the work and sleep better knowing my accounts are actually safe.

Did you guys catch that news story about how password managers can actually prevent like 80% of account takeovers? I saw that mentioned in some cybersecurity roundup and it makes total sense now that I think about it. That first week grind you mentioned is brutal, but honestly, that stat alone keeps me going through the annoying parts. Even just getting rid of those reused passwords from 2015 feels like a weight off my shoulders. It's wild how much peace of mind a little app can give you once you get past the setup hurdle. Definitely makes the whole process feel worth it!
