Used to think these expensive scan tools were total overkill. Picked up a cheaper one first and fought with it for months before getting a Snap-On. Completely changed my mind about what "worth it" means for diagnostics.

...and honestly that's the thing nobody tells you about cheap scan tools - they miss stuff. Grabbed a $40 Autel for my old 5.9 and it couldn't even pull a P0216 code right. Ended up chasing my tail for three days before borrowing a buddy's Snap-On and finding the injection pump timing was shot in five minutes. Not saying you gotta spend big to be a good mechanic but sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
