That one time a fleet of school buses all came in with the same injector issue

We had eight Blue Bird buses from the same district roll in over two days, each with a rough idle and black smoke. Turns out they all got a bad batch of fuel from the same pump at a local station, which gummed up the injectors. Ever dealt with a whole fleet problem from one source like that?

Yeah, had a whole set of delivery vans come in with clogged filters from some off-brand fuel additive the owner tried to save money with. We just dropped the tanks, cleaned the whole fuel system, and put in fresh diesel. Took forever but it fixed every single one. Made them stick to the big name fuel stations after that.

Sounds like my luck, I'd be the one guy who filled up my truck at that same pump!

Ugh, tell me about it. That's the kind of thing that would totally happen to me too. I'd get the one bad tank in the whole city, and it would take weeks to figure out why my engine was running like garbage. You just never know what's in those underground tanks until it's too late.
