Vent: I used to think those cheap universal OBD-II scanners were fine for diesels
After a 2022 Duramax with a weird injector pulse issue stumped my basic unit, I borrowed a buddy's Snap-on Zeus. The live data stream showed a fuel pressure deviation my scanner completely missed. What's your go-to scanner for modern diesel diagnostics?

The 2022 L5P still only has three main engine controllers.

Wait, you were trying to diagnose a 2022 Duramax with a basic scanner? That's like using a butter knife for brain surgery. Those new trucks have way too many computers for the cheap stuff to keep up. I'm not surprised it missed something that big.

Disagree completely with the idea you need a pro scanner. My basic OBD-II reader has pulled codes and live data on my 2020 Powerstroke for years. It caught a bad sensor just fine last month. The problem might have been a fluke or a bad connection, not the tool. Julia's brain surgery comment is over the top, these are still just trucks. Spending thousands on a Zeus for occasional use is crazy when a $150 unit usually gets the job done.
