Coworking space in Chiang Mai made me rethink my whole schedule

Used to work until midnight every day because I thought that's just how nomad life worked. Then I noticed the Thai staff at Punspace closing up at 9pm sharp and realized I was burning out for no reason. Anyone else adjust their work hours to match local rhythms?

Honestly I used to think I was being productive by grinding until 2am every night, felt like I was getting ahead or whatever. Then I stayed at a coworking space in Bali where everyone packed up at sundown and I realized I was just spinning my wheels, not actually getting anything done after a certain point. It took me way too long to admit that I was just copying some hustle bros online who bragged about their 16 hour days. Now I stop around 7pm most nights and my work is actually better because I'm not fried all the time. The locals know what they're doing, they've been living in these places forever and I was too stubborn to see it.

Huh. Sounds like you just needed a vacation, not a whole life philosophy.

Punspace is actually where I had my wakeup call too. When I saw the cleaning crew vacuuming around my desk at 8:45pm I felt like such an idiot for being the last guy there every night lol. @bell.jessica your point about copying hustle bros is spot on, I was literally trying to match some YouTuber who filmed himself coding at 3am in a hoodie but I bet he was just staging that for content. What made you finally stop grinding and listen to the local rhythm instead of your own head?
