I tried a new technique on a deck build last week and it saved me a whole day of work

I'm building a deck in my backyard in Austin, and three years ago I would have done all the joist hangers by hand with nails and a hammer. Last week I used a palm nailer for the first time and got the whole thing done in 4 hours instead of 8. Has anyone else tried those battery-powered nailers for framing work?

@the_riley i get why people are excited about battery nailers but honestly i think the hype is a little much. a palm nailer saved you a day? cool, but you could have just used a hammer and a little elbow grease and been fine. people act like swinging a hammer for a few hours is some kind of medieval torture. its a deck build not brain surgery. i still use a hammer for half my stuff and im not missing any deadlines. battery tools die or jam at the worst times too. my buddy had a framing nailer quit on him mid project and he was stuck driving nails with a hammer anyway. just saying its not that serious.

Yeah the battery nailers changed my whole approach to this stuff too. It's funny how one little tool upgrade can make you wonder why you put up with the hard way for so long.

Did you catch that video @the_riley posted comparing battery nailer brands?
