That $300 dust collector I impulse bought on Facebook Marketplace

I saw a listing for a barely used dust collector for $300, which is like half the price of a new one. Figured it was a steal for my workshop, but when I got it home the bag had a huge tear and the motor sounded like it was grinding rocks. Spent another $60 on a replacement bag just to find out the bearings are shot too. Anyone else get burned on used shop equipment that looked fine in the photos?

Wait, did you buy it from the same guy I bought my "barely used" air compressor from? I mean, mine looked perfect in the photos too, and the guy even fired it up to show me it ran. Got it home and found the tank was rusted through in three spots, must've been painted over real good. Spent like $100 on a new tank and fittings before I realized I could've just bought a whole new compressor for what I had in it. At this point my workshop is basically a museum of other people's worn-out tools.

Bought a used table saw once. Guy said "barely used, just needs a blade". Got it home, the arbor was bent and the fence was warped. Looked straight in the pics though. Spent more fixing it than a new one costs. Facebook Marketplace strikes again.

Barely used" is just code for "broken in ways you can't see.
