TIL my plumbing fix didn't fix the leak... now I'm stuck debating PVC vs copper

I tried to patch a pinhole leak under my kitchen sink in Portland last weekend with PVC cement and a coupling, but it started dripping again 2 days later... now I'm wondering if I should just cut it all out and go copper instead or try a compression fitting. Has anyone had better luck with one over the other for stubborn leaks?

PVC compression fittings are way easier to fix later and hold up fine in most home applications. Copper's expensive and needs soldering skills you probably don't have.

Made the same swap in my own house last year and haven't regretted it once.

Burned my thumb so bad on the first solder joint I nearly threw the copper out the window.
