Unpopular opinion: mixing mortar by hand is better than using a drum mixer for small patios
I poured a 10x12 patio last summer and went with hand mixing in a tub instead of renting a drum mixer. It took me 6 hours versus maybe 3 with a machine, but I had way more control over the consistency. Anyone else stick with old school methods for small jobs?

@the_hayden tried that, now my wheelbarrow is decorated with concrete art. Not a look I was going for.
