Unpopular opinion: that new lightweight mud is a total waste of money
Honestly, I thought the Easy Sand 45 stuff was just a gimmick until I had to patch a whole ceiling in a Phoenix summer. Tried it once and it sets up way too fast for any real finishing work, you get maybe 10 minutes before it's rock hard. Has anyone found a lightweight mix that actually works for more than a quick fill?

It's like @stella111 said, the default settings are never right. You see this everywhere, from mud to software to my own coffee maker.

Switched to the 90 minute stuff and it saved my sanity on that same job.

The real kicker was when I found myself re-reading the same paragraph for the third time because my brain just refused to process it anymore. That's when I realized the default setting was basically gaslighting me into thinking I could run on fumes indefinitely. Swapped to 90 minute blocks with mandatory 10 minute breaks where I actually walk away from the desk, not just stare at the screen. It's wild how something that simple fixed the constant headache and the weird eye twitch I'd been ignoring for weeks.
