I went with aluminum feeders for a 400 amp service upgrade last month and my boss still isn't happy about it.

He always says copper is the only way to go, but the price difference was over $2,000 and the specs met code. The job passed inspection fine and the homeowner saved a lot of money. Am I wrong for thinking aluminum is a solid choice for certain residential applications?

Totally agree, had the same fight with my old foreman. @daniel391 gets it, aluminum is fine when you do the install right.

Used to be a copper-only guy myself until a job like yours changed my mind.
