Old timer on a job site told me to stop using the impact driver for tightening breakers

He said I was putting micro cracks in the plastic bus bars from the hammering action. Now I torque everything by hand with a screwdriver, it takes 30 seconds longer but I haven't had a callback in 5 months. Any of you guys seen broken bus bars from impacts?

Yeah @david_palmer is probably right but I still baby my breakers now. Maybe I should be bringing a torque wrench to job sites too just to be safe.

Fair point about the micro cracks, but how many bus bars have you actually seen fail from an impact driver? Those plastic parts are designed to handle a lot more than a few seconds of hammering from a decent tool. Seems like the old timer is passing on old wisdom that doesn't really hold up with modern materials.
