Had to decide between a $30 replacement screen or a $5 tube of UV glue for a Pixel 6 back glass.

Went with the glue, spent forty minutes under a desk lamp trying to cure it, and now the phone looks like it has a permanent, slightly cloudy sunburn.

So you basically gave your phone a DIY chemical peel? That cloudy sunburn look is the exact reason I'm scared to try those glue kits. Hope it at least holds the glass on.

Right, that "cloudy sunburn" is the worst. I got impatient and didn't let the glue cure under a UV light long enough. Now I have a permanent blurry spot right over the selfie camera.

Ugh, this is the modern version of "measure twice, cut once." We're all so used to instant results from apps and next-day delivery that we try to rush physical stuff. I've done it with wood glue on a shelf, didn't wait for it to set, and the whole thing collapsed. Or painting a wall, putting on a second coat too fast, and it peels. That cloudy spot on your camera is just the latest tech tax for being impatient.
