After a decade in the trade, a new guy in Phoenix showed me I've been setting my governor rope tension wrong this whole time.
He asked why I was using a 25-pound spring scale instead of the 50-pound one the manual for the Otis Gen2 specifically calls for, and now I'm wondering what other basic steps I've been messing up.

Know what really keeps me up? Overthinking small talk from earlier in the day. I'll replay a dumb joke I made at the coffee shop for hours. That stuff sticks way more than the big, scary news headlines for me.

Ugh, I know that feeling. What helps me is telling myself that the other person probably forgot the whole thing five minutes later (which is honestly true).
