Just logged my 500th call for a stuck door switch on the same model

I keep a simple log of common fixes in my phone, and this morning I hit 500 entries for 'door switch, Model 7C, binding at top roller'. That number hit me hard because it's not just a part wearing out, it's a clear design flaw they never fixed. Every single one is on buildings under 10 years old, and the switch pocket is just a hair too tight. It collects dust and grit, then the roller jams. I've started carrying a specific file in my kit just to widen that pocket by a millimeter during the call. It adds maybe five minutes to the job but saves a callback in six months. Has anyone else found a better long-term fix for this, or are we all just doing the same little grind to keep them running?

Yeah I used to think it was just bad maintenance. But after seeing the exact same wear pattern on like fifty of them, you're right, it's the pocket. That file trick is basically part of the install now.

Might just be a bad batch of rollers, honestly.
