Update: That stuck button taught me to listen more closely.
Always blamed the wiring, but a simple clean fixed it, ever had something similar?

Honestly, I see this everywhere now, how quick we are to blame some big, broken system instead of the tiny, simple fix. Like with my phone acting slow, I was ready to buy a new one, but just closing all my apps fixed it. We jump to blame the big, hard thing when the answer is usually quiet and right in front of us. Makes me wonder how many other problems in life just need a little clean instead of a whole rewire.

My laptop fan did the same thing last week.

Ugh that's the worst, when it just starts going full jet engine for no reason. Mine did that a month ago and the noise was so loud I couldn't focus. Tried blowing out the vents with compressed air and it was just a lost cause. Ended up being a bearing going bad in the fan itself. Solidarity on the annoying tech failures.

But what about when the simple fix doesn't cut it? Like with @sandra_moore30's laptop fan, sometimes cleaning just isn't enough and the whole system is actually broken. I had a phone that kept overheating, and closing apps did nothing, it needed a new battery. Isn't it risky to always assume the answer is simple?
