inHow I stopped my aunt from wrecking my AC with a lockbox
You said it's "treating a person like a problem," but that's missing the point. It's treating the thermostat like a problem, because to some people it's a big inviting button they just have to push. My compressor lasting five years instead of three before it breaks down is worth a little plastic box.

inI used a small mirror to spot a leak in a tight space today
Wow, that's a brilliant trick with the mirror! It's amazing how such a simple tool can save so much hassle. Spotting leaks early really stops small issues from blowing up. I've had times where missing something like that turned into a huge repair. Using what you have on hand shows you know how to fix things. Glad you caught it before things got worse!

inDriving cross-country for a rare part was a whole trip back then.
My local bookstore has a cat who sleeps in the history section, and that's a story you can't get online. You're right, @anthony197, the transaction isn't the whole thing.

inJust found out our office's switch to LED bulbs saved enough energy to power three homes for a year
LED lights can really mess with colors. My grandma's paintings look totally different under them too.

inShowerthought: I used to think green jobs were just for activists.
Wow, maxs15 that really got to me. I totally used to think the exact same way, that saving the planet was all about those big protest moments. Seeing it turn into normal jobs your cousin and friend can actually do, that's the real change. Makes the whole thing feel way more possible, you know? Kinda wish my past self had seen that coming instead of feeling so helpless about it.
