Cold email template got me 3 replies out of 10 sends last month
Honestly I've been trying to land more freelance gigs and I threw together a cold email pitch about 4 weeks ago. I sent it to 10 small business owners in Austin who might need web copy. Three of them actually replied and one turned into a paid project worth $400. Tbh the template was pretty simple - just a short intro, a compliment on their site, and one line about how I could help. But I'm not sure if I just got lucky or if the template is actually decent. Has anyone else tested a cold email approach and seen similar open rates?

The REAL test is sending that same template to 10 more people and seeing if the pattern holds up.

One turned into a paid project worth $400" is the key stat here. That's not luck, that's a solid hit rate for cold outreach. A simple personal template that actually lands work is way better than some fancy sales funnel.
