Debate: cold emails vs. warm intros for first client contact

I used to swear by cold emails to new construction managers... sending out 30 a week with my services listed. Then I tried getting warm intros from a supplier I deal with at the local lumber yard. The cold emails got maybe 2 responses total after 3 months, but warm intros landed me 4 solid leads in just 2 weeks. Has anyone else found that a personal reference beats a polished template every time?

Have you seen that study about how people are way more likely to say yes to someone they've been introduced to? It totally explains why warm intros work so much better.

Wait, you mean that study actually proves it's not just about the person being good at selling? I used to think cold outreach was all about having a perfect script. Thought if you just said the right words, people would say yes. But this changes things. It makes total sense why warm intros feel so much easier. You're not just a random name, you're a person someone else vouched for.

Oh man, I gotta push back a little on that, @caseywalker. Yeah, warm intros are powerful, but the study really shows that the person matters a ton too, it's not like the script is totally useless. The vouch just gets your foot in the door, but you still gotta be able to sell once you're in there.
