Finally saw the difference between a regular rasp and a 4-in-1 after a long day in the shop

The 4-in-1 cut through a tough quarter crack on a draft horse in half the time. Anyone have a favorite brand for those?

My buddy had a similar moment with his old rasp last year, lol. He was struggling on a hoof for ages before switching to a 4-in-1. The difference was honestly night and day, like it just melted through the problem. He swears by the Diamond brand ones now.

Wait, Diamond brand? @evan_grant70 you just unlocked a core memory. My dad had one of those in his shop for like twenty years, the handle was practically black with grime. That thing outlasted three trucks. Seeing that name just hit me, they really do make stuff that lasts forever. It's wild how a simple tool can just become part of the family history, you know?

Man, that's the truth. I was using the same old rasp for years out of habit, and it was such a grind. Grabbed a 4-in-1 on a whim and it felt like cheating, the work just got done. Can't go back now, it's a total game changer for getting through tough spots. Your buddy is spot on about that night and day difference.

Night and day" feels like a stretch for a tool swap, honestly.
