Bought a $15 thrift store sewing machine, fixed it myself in 2 hours

Found an old Singer at Goodwill for $15, just needed some oil and a new bobbin case. Has anyone else found hidden gems at thrift stores for your designs?

That Singer find sounds like such a lucky score.

Honestly, that's the kind of find that keeps you coming back for more. But I gotta ask - after you got it running, did you actually test it on some real fabric, or did you just get excited that the motor turned on? I've found a few "deals" that looked perfect until I tried to sew a straight line.

A lucky score" is putting it mildly, I'd say it was almost a robbery. I swear half the fun of thrifting is praying nobody else spotted that dusty machine in the corner before you did. Did you have to elbow any little old ladies out of the way to grab it? I bet you felt like a genius when it started right up with just some oil and a new bobbin case, huh.
