Heard a tailor in NYC mention sleeve pitch yesterday and it clicked

Was getting a jacket adjusted at this little shop in Brooklyn and the guy kept talking about how the sleeve pitch was wrong. He showed me how a 2 degree tilt can mess up the whole drape across the shoulder. Made me realize I've been ignoring that little angle in my own sewing projects for months. Has anyone here tried adjusting pitch on a pattern to fix pulling at the armhole?

Not sure I'd put that much stock in a 2 degree angle being the magic fix for everything. Most of the time the real issue is just how the armhole is cut or the fabric itself has too much weight pulling it down. Adjusting the whole pattern over a tiny tilt seems like a lot of work when a simple shoulder seam tweak does the job.

You see that same pattern everywhere, people overthink tiny details when the big things are the real problem.

Oh wow I always thought pitch was just a buzzword but that makes total sense now!
