My inspector called our future kitchen 'a testament to 1970s avocado-colored optimism' and now I can't unsee it.
We were ready to just paint over the old cabinets until he pointed out the laminate countertops were fused to the backsplash in one solid, green, unchangeable piece, which sent us back to the drawing board to find a house with a kitchen we could actually afford to update.
