Found a trick on Upwork that saved me $40 in fees last month
I was browsing the Upwork forums and noticed someone mentioning how they bundle small tasks into single milestones instead of separate contracts. I tried it on a writing gig where I had 5 short articles for $20 each, bundled them as one $100 project, and the fee dropped to $10 instead of $14 across 5 contracts. Has anyone else played around with milestone bundling to dodge those annoying per-project cuts?

Wait, why wouldn't you always do that? I've been bundling small website copy jobs into one milestone for months now. Five blog posts at $30 each turns into one $150 payout and the fee is way less painful. Just make sure the client is cool with it first, some get nervous if they can't release payments one at a time.

Smart move cutting down on the fees like that.

Oh man, totally! I do the same thing with my freight invoices whenever I can bundle them.
