inAn old cook told me preheating the air fryer was optional. That was a lie.
Ditch the preheat and you're basically just steaming your food for the first few minutes. That's why your wings come out sad and rubbery instead of crunchy. I learned that the hard way too after a year of wondering why my fries always sucked. Now I give it a solid 3-5 minute warm up before anything goes in. It's not about saving time, it's about getting that hot air moving right from the start. Trust the process on this one.

inThat Wednesday when the pump clogged three times before lunch
Not me but my buddy Dave works a pump station on the Mississippi near St. Louis. Last September he pulled out a whole inflatable kiddie pool tangled in some barbed wire. Said it was still partially inflated somehow. @angelamurphy your comment about the tire is rough but at least that's recognizable junk. Dave's also found a fake Christmas tree still in the box, a lawn chair with no legs, and what he swears was a bowling ball bag with one shoe in it. The foam blocks from construction are everywhere here too, I swear they multiply overnight.

inSaw a stat that 80% of deck failures happen at the post-to-beam connection, figured that out after my own deck sagged 2 inches in 3 years
@mila_murphy oh man I did the same thing with my fence posts last year felt like such a fool!

inThat neighbor who insisted I needed a permit for a birdhouse
Oh come on, a birdhouse? lol. People act like a little wooden box on a stick is gonna tank the whole neighborhood market. Bob probably spends his weekends measuring how far people's trash cans are from the curb. Is it really that deep? I mean yeah HOA rules exist but some folks treat them like the constitution. That painted mailbox thing sounds crazy too like who has the energy to fight that battle unless it's some neon pink nightmare dripping in glitter. Sometimes you gotta wonder if people just need a hobby that isn't policing their neighbors.

inWarning: spent 4 hours fixing a shading layer issue that should've taken 10 minutes
Five dollars says half the drama came from you panicking and making it worse instead of just stepping back for a second. I've been there, merged something dumb in Photoshop and spent an hour clicking undo before realizing I could've just closed the file and reopened the autosave. @the_felix you're right that renaming is a pain but honestly sometimes a layer called "shading fix 3" is good enough for me. Maybe I'm just lazy but I feel like if the mistake took 4 hours to fix, the real issue was getting in your own head, not the software glitching.
