Rant: A customer's single comment made me rethink my entire prep process

Had a client in Austin last week point out all the tiny bumps under their vinyl plank from old glue residue I thought I'd ground down enough. It's making me go back over every floor with a scraper twice now, even when I think it's clean. Anybody else get called out on prep work and change up their routine?

Read a blog post from a flooring guy out in Denver who said the same thing happened to him on a job last spring. He swore by a diamond grinding cup wheel after that, said it saved him hours of scraping.

I had the exact same mess in my garage last year with some old glue down tile. I tried scraping for about an hour and only got like 3 square feet done. So I rented a diamond cup wheel from Home Depot for like 40 bucks and it took off the rest of the floor in maybe 2 hours flat. That thing was a TOTAL game changer, I couldn't believe how fast it chewed through that glue. Just make sure you have a good dust shroud hooked up to a shop vac or you'll be breathing that concrete dust for days. Seriously, if you're dealing with a big area, don't even bother with the scraper.

Diamond cup wheel beats scraping any day of the week.
