Rant: Overheard a homeowner at the hardware store say they'd never pay for moisture testing

They were buying laminate and said it was just a 'scam' to charge more. I had to bite my tongue, but it reminded me of a job in Bellingham where we skipped it and the whole floor cupped in 8 months. Do you guys ever run into this attitude and how do you handle it?

Wait, they were putting laminate in and still thought it was a scam? That stuff swells up if you look at it wrong. What did they think causes the cupping, magic?

My buddy in Tacoma had to replace a whole basement floor last year, same story.

Sounds about right. My own basement's a testament to bad luck and worse drainage.
