Finally learned how to stop motion sensors from false alarms in hallways after way too many repeat visits.

Yeah, my buddy had a similar mess with his... he mounted his sensor right over a heating vent and it went off every twenty minutes like clockwork. He spent weeks thinking it was a wiring fault or a bad unit before he caught the warm air puffing the curtains. Ended up moving it to the opposite wall and tilting it away from the vent, and that finally did the trick. He said the worst part was explaining to his wife why he was crawling around the hallway at midnight checking the thermostat.

Went to the new tech store in Portland and their demo setup was a mess

I saw a tech blog last week talking about how store demos are often the worst way to judge a screen. They said the brightness is always cranked to max and the demo software hides flaws. That dead pixel @skyler_johnson32 mentioned is a perfect example. It totally makes sense that a broken setup would make a good product look bad. I almost skipped a great phone once because the store model had a scratched up screen protector. They really should take better care of that stuff.

My cousin insisted I skip the first two episodes of that new sci-fi show

My friend told me to skip the intro cutscenes in a video game once. Just threw me into the action with no idea who the factions were or what my goal was. Spent hours shooting the wrong guys and failing missions. Never took his advice again.

Comparing a simple checklist to a full contract for a kitchen repaint job

Ever think video was overkill for small jobs? I used to just do photos. Then a client swore their kitchen outlet worked before I touched the switch. My photo showed the old burn marks I missed, but they kept arguing. Now I do the narrated video walkthrough like you said. Pointing at that exact outlet on video, saying it's already broken, saved me from eating that repair cost. Changed my whole process.
