That brutal Tuesday last month where everything went wrong at once
I had a job in a condo downtown Chicago, starting on a Tuesday at 8 AM. The customer's subfloor had high spots I didn't catch during the measure, and I spent two hours grinding concrete instead of laying floor. Then my saw blade snapped halfway through cutting the first row of LVP. By lunch I was behind by 3 hours, and the customer kept checking in asking when I'd be done. What's the worst single day you've had on a job and how did you bounce back?

Actually that snapped blade might have been a blessing in disguise...

That "saw blade snapped while cutting the first row" part really got me. I've never had that happen but it sounds like a nightmare. Maybe the concrete grinding was actually the silver lining you're not seeing. If you hadn't caught those high spots then, you'd have been ripping out floor after it was glued down, which would have turned a bad Tuesday into a whole week of hell.

Honestly that's such a good point I hadn't even thought of it that way. Catching the high spots early with grinding is way better than realizing you have a bumpy floor after the tile is glued and stuck. Sounds like that snapped blade might have actually saved you from a much bigger headache down the road.
