Changed my mind on those $40 hydrangea anchors I swore were a waste

I spent $42 on a pack of those mesh hydrangea supports after my stems kept flopping over in every arrangement last summer. Three weddings later and I haven't had a single droopy head, they actually hold the stems upright without crushing them. Anybody else find a tool they thought was gimmicky that turned out to be worth it?

Ha, I bought some floral tape once thinking it was just hype. Ended up using the whole roll in a weekend because I couldn't get my stems to stay put without it. Total sucker for fancy tools now.

Is it really that serious though? I find that people often get carried away with these "game changer" tools and end up with a drawer full of stuff they barely used. @sean48 I get the floral tape story, but that's more about finding the right fix for a specific problem. Half the time a simple twist tie or a piece of string does the same job for free. Tools are fine, but I think folks oversell how much they actually change the results.
