PSA: A bride in Portland told me she picked her florist based on who had the best Instagram stories, not the feed

I was doing a final walkthrough with a client last week, and she said she almost didn't book me because my grid photos were a bit formal. She said she chose me because my stories showed the real, messy workbench and how I fixed a broken stem on camera. It made her trust I could handle problems. Has anyone else found that showing the process is bringing in more work than just the perfect final shots?

The messy process is the real portfolio.

Totally agree with @garcia.cameron... my early sketches are a mess but that's where the good stuff comes from. Showing that process always gets a better reaction than just the final piece.

Honestly used to believe only the polished portfolio mattered. Seeing a florist's messy workbench story last year completely flipped that for me. Now I know the behind the scenes stuff builds way more trust.
