Why does nobody talk about the hidden cost of cheap safety glasses?

I spent $12 on a pack of 20 safety glasses from a discount bin last month and they fogged up so bad I couldn't see the pour on a big job in Nashville. Ended up with a splash on my boot that took forever to clean because I couldn't react fast enough. Has anyone else dealt with cheap glasses costing more in the long run?

Oh man, I bought a pair that turned my face orange from the rubber reacting with my sweat.

You ever just try washing the lenses with dish soap before you put them on? I had the same problem with fogged up glasses on a humid job site in Atlanta, kept smearing the lenses with my shirt and making it worse. A buddy told me to rub a tiny drop of Dawn on each lens and wipe it dry, legit stopped the fog for hours. Also switched to a pair with a foam gasket around the frame, cost me like $25 but no more sweat dripping down into my eyes either. That orange rubber thing another person mentioned though, that's wild, never seen that before.

So you're saying dish soap on glasses is a good thing? Won't that strip the anti-glare coating or mess up the lenses over time? I'd rather deal with a little fog than ruin a $200 pair of frames.
