I threw away $2,500 on a legal template subscription I never used
Signed up for this big legal document library that promised all these state specific contracts. Paid $250 a month for 10 months before I realized I only downloaded 2 files. Both of them needed heavy edits anyway so I ended up hiring a lawyer to fix them. Total waste. Anybody else get suckered into these expensive template services?

Wait, $300 a MONTH for almost a year? That's like $3,600 down the drain before you even realized it! That makes my $2,500 mistake look almost reasonable by comparison, and believe me, neither one of us got anywhere near our money's worth. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out how these companies stay in business when half the documents they sell are flat out wrong for your state. You had to pay $800 extra to fix things too? Man, that's the part that really stings, you know? You think you're saving money by doing it yourself, but then you end up paying twice as much in the long run just to make things right. I swear these template services are just preying on people who are trying to be smart about their money, and it backfires every single time.

Got burned by the exact same thing last year. Signed up for that one big legal template site, the one with all the fancy promises about state specific documents. Paid $300 a month for almost a year before I finally looked at my bank statements. I only pulled three templates total, and two of them were completely wrong for my state's laws. Ended up spending another $800 fixing everything with a real lawyer anyway. These services are a trap for anyone who thinks they can skip paying a professional.

Man, that's rough... really feel for you on this one. It's crazy how much those places promise and then just leave you hanging like that.
